A slow start led to a disappointing loss for the Clarkson University Women’s Basketball team on Tuesday evening as the Golden Knights fell to North Country rival St. Lawrence University 66-33 in Liberty League action in Canton.
Clarkson struggled from the opening tip-off against the Saints at Burkman Gymnasium and could never recover, falling behind 34-12 at the half.
Freshman Amanda Czop (Athens, NY) led the Knight scorers with eight points. Sophomore Sarah Wesner (Sidney, NY) recorded nine rebounds for the Green and Gold.
The loss drops Clarkson to 4-17 on the year, 1-9 in conference. The Knights return to action at league powerhouse William Smith for a 6:00 p.m. game on Friday.
