Potsdam, NY - Junior Meagan Emlaw (Norfolk, NY) posted two saves in her third shutout of the season as the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team picked up its fourth win in the past five games with a 2-0 win over crosstown rival Potsdam State on Tuesday night.
The Golden Knights moved to 5-2 on the season and open up Liberty League play this weekend when they visit Union and Skidmore. The Bears dropped to 3-4.
Junior Emily Mahar (Baldwinsville, NY) posted her first goal of the season late in the first half when she found the back of the net on a pass from sophomore Cait Markes (Kingston, NY) to put the Knights up 1-0. Junior Catie Reed (Lafayette, NY) tallied her fifth goal of the season midway through the second half with Katelyn Wagner (Troy, NY) assisting on the final score.
The Golden Knights out shot Potsdam 10-2 and held a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.
