Canton, NY - Despite 20 first-half turnovers, the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team found itself within two points of St. Lawrence at intermission, but the Golden Knights' luck ran out in the second half as the Saints pulled away for a 70-48 Liberty League victory on Tuesday evening at Burkman Gymnasium.

The Golden Knights dropped to 2-12 overall and 0-3 in conference play, and will face Vassar and Rensselaer this weekend at Alumni Gymnasium. St. Lawrence won its 11th straight game to improve to 13-1 overall and 3-0 in the Liberty League.

Despite falling behind by double-digits in the first half because of turnovers, Clarkson was able to climb back into the contest in the waning moments of the half. The second half was a different story, however, as the Knights tied the game early on, but couldn't seem to find the right shot to take the lead to put a scare into the Saints. Biding their time, the Saints found their offense thanks to Katie Palmer, who missed most of the first half with foul trouble. A 15-2 run by the Saints increased their lead and made it virtually impossible for Clarkson to fight back.

Junior Rachel Whitermore (Holliston, MA) scored nine points on 4-for-9 shooting, and grabbed 10 rebounds for Clarkson, and sophomore Michelle Reddinger (Baldwinsville, NY) was 6-for-8 from the floor for 13 points. Palmer finished with a game-high 21 points, shooting 7-for-11 in the second half alone. Jamie Wolff also added in 10 points as the Saints made 23 steals in forcing 39 Clarkson turnovers.
