Cortland, NY - A disappointing shooting effort in the first half could not be counteracted by the change of the halves as the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team dropped a 78-38 non-league decision to Cortland State Tuesday afternoon.
The Golden Knights fell to 4-6 overall and will close out the non-league portion of the schedule on Thursday when they host Oswego State. The Red Dragons improved to 7-2 on the season.
One bright spot for Clarkson on Tuesday was junior forward Michelle Reddinger (Baldwinsville, NY), who posted her fifth double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds. It was also the 10th straight game this year in which she recorded double figures. In addition to Reddinger's double-double, sophomore guard Sierra Noles (Averill Park, NY) contributed nine points and four rebounds, and classmate Katie Goldberg (Stowe, VT) added eight points.
Leading Cortland's well-rounded effort was Jessica Laing, who had 11 points and 15 rebounds. Ali Canale and Allyson Biordi each had 12 points for the Red Dragons.
