Senior Kimberly Loucks (Waterloo, NY) continues to move up the Clarkson University Women’s Lacrosse program’s all-time scoring chart after recording a game-high five goals on Friday, but it was not enough to carry the Golden Knights past Liberty League powerhouse William Smith as the Green and Gold fell to the Herons 17-8 in Geneva, NY.

Clarkson battled William Smith fairly closely in the first 30 minutes, trailing only 8-5 at the break. The Herons (5-3, 2-1), however, pulled away in the second half outscoring the Knights 9-3.

With her second five-goal outing of the season, Loucks now has 129 career goals, including 26 this season, and trails only Lindsey Grigg ’07 (131 goals) and Emily Bojarski ’09 (132) on Clarkson’s all-time goal-scoring list.

Freshman Katie VanDeValk (Baldwinsville, NY) added two goals for the Knights against William Smith, while sophomore Saryn Campbell (West Bolton, VT) scored once.

Rosie Scheibel tallied five goals for the Herons.

William Smith outshot the Knights 41-29 and held a 22-18 edge in ground balls. Sophomore Hannah Walters (Amherst, NH) made 12 saves for Clarkson. Loucks and sophomore Alyssa Dausman (Syracuse, NY) picked up four ground balls apiece to lead Clarkson in that category.

At 5-3 overall and 0-2 in the Liberty league, the Knights play at conference power Hamilton College in Clinton, NY on Saturday beginning at 2:00 p.m.
