A strong first half was too much for the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team to overcome as the Golden Knights fell to Union 5-1 on Friday afternoon.

Clarkson is now 7-5-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the Liberty League while Union is 7-3-3 overall and 3-2-0 in conference.

Union got on the scoreboard just three minutes into the game. The Dutchwomen added two more goals within two minutes of each other, the first coming in the 15th minute and a third goal coming in the 16th minute. Union added a fourth goal in the 35th minute and took a 4-0 lead into halftime.

Union scored a fifth goal in the 64th minute. Clarkson drew one back in the 66th minute. Summer Gillespie's free kick deflected off a Union player and into the back of the Union goal.

Union held a 13-12 advantage in shots and both teams took a pair of corner kicks. Anna Demasi made four saves for Clarkson in 70 minutes of action with Nicole Zlotnick playing the final twenty minutes without making a stop.

Clarkson will travel to Rensselaer for a 4:00 pm game on Saturday afternoon.
