Knights Finish Florida Trip with Second Win, 12-4 Against Concorida (WI)

Bradenton, FL - Junior Christine Wright scored six points with three goals and three assists as the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team won its second game in two days with a 12-4 win over Concordia (WI) on Wednesday afternoon.

The Golden Knights moved to 5-1 overall on the season and will return to Potsdam at the end of the week after using the next few days for practices. Concordia fell to 1-2 in 2015.

Wright had a hand in three of the first four goals for the Knights in just seven minutes as the Golden Knights raced out to an 8-0 lead in the first 27 minutes of the half. Concordia finall broke their scoreless streak with 1:57 left in the half, but a goal from Stephanie Lynch 53 seconds later ended the momentum and the Knights headed into the break with a 9-1 lead.

Wright scored the first goal of the second half for the Knights as Clarkson's offense was slowed slightly. The two teams each scored three goals in the second half as the Knights' defense continued to limit Concordia's offensive chances.

The Knights held a 27-16 edge in shots in teh game and a modest 14-9 lead in groundballs. Wright had six points to lead the way, while Paige Fayette added in two goals and an assist. Ashley Flick and Taylor Collins each tallied two goals, while Danielle Faivus, Taylor Kwiek, and Lynch each had a goal. Kate Dillon also produced an assist. For Concordia, Allison Kurek had two goals and a pair of groundballs while Amanda McKay and Hayley Peppers each scored a goal. In net, Dani Tani made nine saves and allowed only four goals for Clarkson, and Veronika Matanova made 10 saves and gave up 12 goals for Concordia.
