CU Women's Basketball Preview - vs. St. Lawrence (1/9/2018)

Back at home for a run of seven straight league games, the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team will look to take advantage of Alumni Gym's familiarity, beginning on Tuesday when the Golden Knights face Route 11 rival St. Lawrence University.

The Series: St. Lawrence holds a decided advantage in the all-time series, leading 66-20, but the Golden Knights have won four of the last five games against the Saints. Clarkson claimed a pair of double-digit wins in 2016-17, with an average margin of victory of 15.0 points per game.

Key Stats for Clarkson (6-5, 1-3 Liberty League): The two best long range bombers in the conference will be matching up on Tuesday. Clarkson's Devin Sorell is second in the Liberty League with 24 3-point field goals this season and her percentage of makes has risen steadily as the season has gone on. Sorell has made 16 3-pointers in the last six outings, shooting 42.1% from the arc over that time. On the other side of the ball, the Golden Knights have a league-best 3-point field goal defense, allowing opponents to make just 24.1% of their attempts.

Key Stats for St. Lawrence (7-4, 2-2 Liberty League): Senior Kaelyn Kohlasch is the only player in the league with more 3-pointers than Clarkson's Sorell, and her rate of makes has been impressive throughout the campaign.
