At the midway point of the conference slate, the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team is also in the middle of a tough five-game stretch in just nine days as the Golden Knights head to Canton, NY to take on Route 11 rival St. Lawrence University on Tuesday.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: The Golden Knights have 21 wins in 91 meetings against St. Lawrence, with the Saints winning four of the past five contests, including the most recent game, a 74-44 decision on December 10th.

Key Stats for Clarkson (6-9 overall, 2-7 Liberty League): The Golden Knights somewhat reinvented themselves on the fly in the second semester as leading scorer Molly Stewart's season ended in the last game against the Saints. The evolution of Clarkson's team took some time, but the Knights have found new go-to scorers and a different rotation. Stewart's absence is certainly significant, as she averaged 13 points per game and ranked among the top defenders in the conference, but the other upperclassmen have stepped up in January. Junior Hannah Earl leads the team in scoring at 12.4 points per game and she averaged 22.0 ppg over the weekend, while Rachel Marion, another junior, has upped her averages recently thanks to 14.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game against William Smith and RIT as well. Classmate Emma Buonanno is averaging 9.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game. Her last game against RIT was the first time this season she did not register at least one steal in a game.

Key Stats for St. Lawrence (11-5 overall, 7-2 Liberty League): The Saints possess perhaps the best defense in the Liberty League, ranking first in points allowed (53.1 ppg), field goal defense (32.9%) and 3-point field goal defense (24.5%). That defense has helped the team win five straight league contests, all of the victories coming by 10 or more points. Katie Frederick leads the conference in field goal percentage (55.5%) and rebounding (13.0 rpg) while also placing in the top 10 in scoring at 14.1 points per contest. Ava McCann creates a tough inside-outside combination with Frederick, averaging 13.3 ppg with a league best 48 3-pointers. McCann has made at least three 3-pointers in nine of the last 12 games and is ninth in the league in scoring. Olivia Middleton also ranks first in the league in assists per game (3.9) and averages 9.1 points per contest.
