CU Women's Basketball Preview - vs. Bryant & Stratton (Syracuse) (3/11)

Taking a momentary rest from games against St. Lawrence, the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team will host its second incarnation of Bryant & Stratton College on Thursday, facing the version from Syracuse with a 4:00 pm scheduled tip at Alumni Gymnasium.

The Series: This will be the first game between the two teams.

Key Stats for Clarkson (4-3): Graduate student sits at precisely 1000 points for her career after an 18-point effort against St. Lawrence on Tuesday, and she is now averaging 10.3 points per game while shooting 44.6% from the field, less than two percentage points below what she shot as a freshman but eight percent or better than her last three seasons. Hannah Earl leads the team in both scoring (11.4 ppg) and rebounding (6.9 rpg). Clarkson's defense has been strong this year, forcing 43 more turnovers than it has committed (140-97) and allowing opponents to make less than 20% of their 3-point attempts over the last three contests (8-for-52).

Key Stats for Bryant & Stratton (3-3): The Bobcats have won three of their last four after dropping the first two games of the season, receiving strong performances from a variety of sources. Julie Trowers notched a double-double in her first game and is averaging 10.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per contest, while Traynise Delaney has been particularly strong as of late with three 20-point games, giving her season averages of 19.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest. Jnaya Diallo tossed in 28 points in her first start of the season and is also producing 16.3 points per game. The Bobcats are shooting just 21.5% from beyond the 3-point arc, but can be very streaky, going 10-for-24 in their last game and shooting 9-for-22 three games ago.
