The Series: Friday's game will mark the first meeting between the two teams.

Key Stats for Clarkson (2-2 in 2020): The Golden Knights lost five of their top six scorers from a year ago to graduation, as a veteran-heavy team had its chance at postseason glory taken away by an early stoppage to the 2020 season. However, Clarkson does return its top scorer from the past two seasons in junior Sydney Roderick, who sits just two points from 100 in her career despite playing just 23 games. Last season Roderick scored four times and found teammates for 12 assists to up her career totals to 37 goals and 61 assists. Despite the loss of scoring punch due to graduation, Clarkson has plenty of experience around the field, including seniors Celia Fitzgerald, Julia Nicotra, Kyrsten Stone and Natalie Farnett. Even more importantly, the Knights have a veteran group on defense which includes seniors Sarah Duhaime and Adeline Danyla as well as goalkeeper Carolynn Pechmann and Emily Fischer.

Key Stats for St. John Fisher (3-0 in 2020): The Cardinals were likely on their way to another strong season, posting three straight wins to start last year's campaign including a 9-5 victory over 23rd-ranked SUNY Cortland. St. John Fisher reached the NCAA Tournament eight straight years from 2012-2019 and posted a 19-2 mark just two years ago. Unsurprisingly, the Cardinals rank in the top 15 in a pair of preseason polls thanks to a strong returning group of veterans. Sydney DeGirolamo led the team in scoring a year ago with 18 points (10 goals, 8 assists) and also notched 25 draw controls. Logan Chase and Brittany Halpin also excelled in the midfield, combining for 11 goals with each contributing six groundballs, tied for the team lead. Alyssa Sabotka also produced nine points on six goals and three assists. In the crease, Claudia Mocciaro was off to a strong start, allowing just 3.63 goals per game and stopping 66.7% of all shots on goal.
