The Series: The Golden Knights have won two of three meetings thus far against St. Lawrence in 2021. The first victory was an easy one with a margin of 24 points, but the last two games have been decided by single digits, with each team picking up a win on the opposing team's court. St. Lawrence and Clarkson are slated to play one another three times next week as well, in Potsdam on Sunday and then back in Canton on Tuesday and Friday.

Key Stats for Clarkson (3-3): The Green and Gold averaged more than 72 points per game through the first five contests of 2021, but a rough effort against Rochester on Sunday has dipped Clarkson's scoring average to a shade under 68 points per contest. Senior Hannah Earl is producing a solid line with 11.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, while classmate Emma Buonanno trails Earl in both categories (10.2 ppg, 6.4 rpg). Carly Assimon, another senior, leads the team with 11 3-pointers, and graduate student Molly Stewart is tossing in nine per game. Clarkson's opponents are shooting just 27.6% from beyond the 3-point arc and are averaging 20.5 turnovers per game, with St. Lawrence doing a little better than those averages (28.8% from the 3-point arc, 18.3 turnovers per game).

Key Stats for St. Lawrence (1-2): The Saints got off to a slow start against Clarkson, but the key to St. Lawrence's resurgence in the last two games has been the play of guard Olivia Middleton. The sophomore posted just six points on 2-for-11 shooting in the opener, but has been a tough player to defend in the last two contests, averaging 24.0 points per game, including a career-best 28 in last week's loss to Clarkson. Sophomore Sierra Sanson is averaging close to a double-double with 10.0 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game without actually achieving one, coming up a basket short in St. Lawrence's win and a rebound shy in the team's last defeat. She is also shooting 64.7% from the floor, but is hitting only 50.0% of her free throws.
