CU Women's Basketball Preview - vs. St. Lawrence University (1/23)

At home for three games in the next week, the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team will be looking to get on the winning track when the team faces St. Lawrence University on Tuesday at Alumni Gymnasium.

The Series: In the first meeting of the season, a 73-61 win for the Saints, Clarkson got off to a slow start with only seven points in the first quarter. From that point on, the Golden Knights and St. Lawrence played even with 54 points over the final 30 minutes. Cassidy Dumont posted her lone 20-point game of the year against the Saints, tossing in 21 in 39 minutes.

Key Stats for Clarkson (3-13, 1-8 Liberty League): While Cassidy Dumont made her way into Clarkson's top 15 all-time in scoring over the past weekend, sophomore Raelin Burns continued her solid scoring streak as well, leading the team in points in both games. Burns has produced double figures in five straight games and is the only Clarkson player with multiple 20-point games this season. She is averaging 12.3 points per game this year and is shooting 36.2% from beyond the 3-point arc. Burns has also made the second-most free throws in the conference with 62.

Key Stats for St. Lawrence (6-9, 5-4 Liberty League): First-year collegian Elizabeth Flynn is the latest in a long line of solid forwards for the Saints. Flynn is averaging 10.3 points and a league-best 12.6 rebounds per game for the Saints, shooting 45.7% from the floor and an impressive 92.9% from the free throw line (26-for-28). Her rebounding figure ranks 11th in the country and is second among freshmen, having snagged double figures in 13 of 15 games with three games of 18 rebounds or more. Opponents have made just 67 3-pointers against St. Lawrence, tied for second fewest in the conference.
