It's an unusually early start for the conference season for the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team, but the Golden Knights will be playing a Liberty League contest in just game two of the 2024-25 season when they travel down Route 11 to take on St. Lawrence University on Saturday afternoon.

The Series: Clarkson has lost eight straight to the Saints dating back to the abbreviated COVID season of 2020-21 when the teams played one another seven times. The Golden Knights won that series of games 4-3, but dropped the final two contests as well as the last six in Liberty League play.

Key Stats for Clarkson (0-1): All eyes will be on Cassidy Dumont on Saturday as the senior guard is looking to become just the ninth player in program history to eclipse 1000 career points. After 16 in the season-opener against SUNY Canton, Dumont sits just three points short of quadruple digits for her career. On Tuesday, Dumont moved into 10th place all-time in field goals made at Clarkson, and her moving up the all-time lists will be a constant throughout this campaign.

Key Stats for St. Lawrence (2-0): The early results have been solid for the Saints, posting an 18-point win against Oswego State to begin the year and then a five-point overtime victory against SUNY Potsdam. Sophomore forward Elizabeth Flynn is averaging 18.5 points and 16.0 rebounds per contest, including 6.5 on the offensive glass. Jackie Mallery is also chipping in 10.0 points per contest in the early going. St. Lawrence is not shooting particularly well as a team, hitting just 27.0% of its shots, but 35 offensive rebounds have helped create multiple opportunities on the offensive end.
