Canton, NY - Five different players notched goals as the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team downed SUNY Canton, 6-0 Tuesday evening.

Clarkson improves to 2-2-0 on the season, breaking a two-game losing streak, while Canton drops to 1-2-2.

Emma Robinson opened the scoring early, a little over two minutes into the first half. Robinson received the ball off a throw-in from Maddie Lopol on the left wing, took one touch towards the end line and unleashed a rocket into the upper left corner past the outstretched arms of the Canton goalie.

Canton nearly evened the score in the 16th minute as Kamryn Barnes sent a low cross towards the Knight's six-yard line which was missed by the first Kangaroo attacker before being cleared away by a Clarkson defender for a corner. The Knights were not completely clear of the danger as the ensuing corner bounced through the crowd at the front post and was directed on goal by a Canton forward before being cleared off the goal line by another quick reacting Clarkson defender to keep the lead intact.

The rest of the half remained in the favor of the Golden Knights as Robinson added to the lead with her second of the game in the 23rd minute. Callie Abel scooped up a loose ball on the right wing before sprinting past a defender to play the ball on the ground across the Kangaroo's six yard line, finding Robinson who made no mistake, smashing it into the roof of the net.

Clarkson added one more just before the halftime whistle courtesy of Brooke Butler. Butler received a pass through the middle from the wing with her back to goal and shook the defender with some quick feet before placing a shot into the top left corner of the goal.

The second half remained in the hands of the Knights who continued to pass around the hosts as Canton struggled to gain any momentum going forward.

Lillian Gillett added to the lead in the 82nd minute off a nicely worked free kick routine. Riley Irvin sent a ball from just inside the halfyard line towards the top of the Canton 18-yard line where it was met by the head of Chloe Hodge, who then placed it in front of the Kangaroos goal for Gillett to slide past the goalkeeper.

The Golden Knights would add two more in the final five minutes of the contest as Hodge would get on the scoresheet, picking up a loose ball inside the 18, tucking it into the left side-panel of the goal. Jamie Dahlgard registered the final tally of the contest, in the 88th minute, as Rachael Matthews whipped an early cross into the box from the left side wing for Dahlgard to redirect into the right corner.

The Green and Gold return to action Friday, as they travel to Connecticut to take on the University of Hartford.
