Clarkson host SLU in the Mid Week "Kids Game"

2023 Kids Game Crowd of 3223
The Clarkson Golden Knights will look for the help of over 2900 local students that will pack Cheel for the 2nd "Kids Game" at Cheel.  The Knights will host St. Lawrence at 11:00 am on Wednesday for a non league contest.

The Knights enter the game on a 3 game streak scoreless streak which they will look to break against the Saints.  It was a 2nd period goal against Harvard that was the last time the Knights scored.  In losses to Dartmouth and Princeton (ot) and a tie with Quinnipiac the Knights have also been near perfect defensively, allowing only a 1.3 Goals Against Average.  The Princeton and Quinnipiac games both ended in 0-0 regulation scoreless games.  That is the first time that Clarkson has ever played to two straight scoreless games in regulation.

The St. Lawrence Saints enter the game with a 6-7-1 record and a split with Quinnipiac and Princeton over the weekend.  Kassidy Lawrence and Emma-Sofie Nordström have been sharing time in the crease. Lawrence enters the week with a 1.56 goals against average and a .947 save percentage, while Nordström holds a 1.74 goals against and a .946 save percentage.  Rookie Rylan Haslam and Sr. Kiley Mastel lead the Saints with three goals on the season, while Brooke Mulvihill and Alexia Côté lead SLU in points.  Mulvihill is the daughter of former Golden Knight, Dana Mulvihill.

The rivalry between Clarkson and St. Lawrence has been a fun experience for North Country Hockey fans.  Over 80 games the Knights hold a 44-26-10 advantage and are 3-1-1 over the last 5, 7-2-1 over the last 10 games.  Fans that are looking for either team to bust out the goals will find that rare in this matchup.   In the last 10 games, 4 have resulted in a shut out for one of the teams, 3 games have had 2 goals or less, and only 3 have netted more than 4 goals.  When goals do come, they come in bunches, the 3 games to buck the defensive trend have been wild scores of 5-6 SLU, 6-4 CU, and 6-3 CU.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and Stretch, air live on SNY and can be heard on B99.3 FM.
